I'd say about 80 to 100 feet high. Interesting. Way back when we were discussing this before we got onto the approach I had used the shadows on the MOC imagery to estimate that these cliffs shouldn't be more than 12m tall. Can anyone provide a definitive answer are we dealing with 8-12m or 27-33m?. |

The crater is quoted as being 230 feet deep ? Those cliffs look about just less than half the depth, 100 feet, 33m, by my rough guestimating..............

I think if you look around the crater you will see that the cliffs do't extend down 50% of the way into the crater, certainly the far bluffs look closer to 12m than 30m. Time to load up Agorimancer's parallax calculator. |

Can someone explain why Victoria is so fluted ? A very superficial explanation would be erosion along fractures. What began as cracks in the ancient crater grew and grew as wind, sand sliding down those cracks, occasional mass wasting, and lots and lots of time, allowed them to grow(backward) into capes and bays. -------------------- If Occam had heard my theory, things would be very different now.
