For the mathematically challenged, such as myself, could someone please post the exact time when Spirit enters Sol 1000. My feeble calculations place the moment on the evening of Wednesday next, October 25th., at either 1845 or 2345 GMT, depending on whether you add or subtract the extra 40 minutes a day to get Earth time. A Duff beer for anyone who can coach us dunces on this one!

Very nice!

By the by, do not forget that we started MERs SOL clock on Sol 1 and NOT Sol 0. Spirit wiill not have experienced 1000 Sols until the start of Sol 1001.

Yeah I'll give you a hug for this Ustrax, and Spirit...

She's amazing...Isn't she?... rolleyes.gif

Stu...Your work will, someday, be read by martian teenagers at school...You know that, don't you? wink.gif

Climber...That "say Hello to sister Oppy" sent a shiver down my spine...
I assure I'll look up and wave a that incredible creature, fruit of human dedication to know more, and wish her an happy anniversary...

Spirit will make a very short drive in about a week to study new ground with its instruments. About a month from now, it will start a longer drive towards a formation called Home Plate, visible as a light-coloured strip of material in the upper right corner of the image.
