Seems like your best bet would be to contact the JPL PR department & see if they have the original pic on file somewhere...given the vintage, the highest-res available would be the original film. I'm sure that they would be more than happy to help you, esp. since you're engaged in a project focused on their achievements; I know from personal experience as a kid that they'll mail great pics to you at the drop of a hat!
