"This panoramic camera (Pancam) picture from the Mars rover Opportunity is being released by NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory today, Oct. 7. It was received, calibrated and assembled Oct. 3 by the MarsLab at Cornell, led by astronomer Jim Bell. It shows a meter-high rock, dubbed "Wopmay," and "Burns Cliffs" in the background. Both are on the rover's exploration list." |
