Looks like we have the results of the instrument. I feel I'm very silly. I understand nothing.

I got a Google translation for the PACE result map. But it's a real challenge to understand. I wasn't up to it but maybe others will have better luck.

The Kaguya Japanese image gallery has a flyaround movie of Kimura crater (farside). Not as spectacular as the Tycho flyover movie.

This crater has interesting features on its bottom: pools of impact melt?

Have we seen a picture of Rupes Recta (Straight Wall) from Kaguya? When I try googling I get suggestions that there may be something, but I can not seem to get any of the hits to pan out.

I believe one of the biologically-infested spacecraft of the 1960's may have imaged it as well, but I have not seen any photos. It was always one of my favorite targets with a telescope.

Perfect, thanks a million! You know, even though they say it's only a 7% slope, it still looks very sheer even from this close up.

What a beautiful shot!

When does Kaguya's primary mission end, anyhow? I'm afraid with the recent rush in lunar orbiters I haven't kept abreast of things too well.

Kaguya finished its primary mission in October. It's now in an extended phase. By the way, the raw data is expected to be released one year after the primary mission. I do hope people will retain interest, because LRO will launch this year and soon we will have a powerful camera in orbit.

The altimetry data I'm really looking forward to - as, believe it or not, MOLA means we know more about the shape of Mars than the Moon (and as an animator - it's almost impossible to do a nice animation of the moon with the current elevation data out there)

Tycho fly over: http://wms.selene.jaxa.jp/selene_viewer/en.../tc/tc_012.html
The file is very heavy and I couldn't open it. Ciel &Espace jan 09 says it worth a try.
I hope you'll be luckier than me. Forget me if already posted.

It's impossible to predict when a press release or a published paper might occur, but by the end of this year (approximately) the full Kaguya data set should be available online. Then just watch UMSF go to town with it! You might also find some interesting results reported at LPSC at the end of March.
