Hi, this is Beth Dewell for the Mars Exploration Rover Flight Director report for Thursday September 2nd.

On Opportunity we’re currently on sol 217 in the morning. On sol 216 we successfully completed closing the APXS doors and then reopening them on the CCT. We completed a Mossbauer integration on ‘EmilNolde’ and we also used the Microscopic Imager to confirm that we’re in the correct place for this.

On Spirit, we’re currently on 237. We just received our data for this sol and we completed two moves for a total bump back of a full meter. We also performed remote sensing including a NavCam of ‘Ebeneezer’ in the drive direction.

And that’s what’s happening on Mars today.
