Hello people,
I would like to take this chance to inform you of MERDAT.

It is currently tagged with the name MERDAT2007, but I think I will drop that name,
as I am soon planning to place the updated version online which makes AVI movies from still image sequences, (great for those dust devil enthusiasts.).

Stills and AVI's can all be tagged with SOL and Earth date and time in UTC.
It can create instant approximate true colour images as long as filters 4, 5 and 6 (red, green, blue) MER images are present. It can also make false colour images from whatever filter images you choose manually. It can also make 3D anaglyph or x eye images.
MERDAT's main screen will display BMP, JPG, GIF and animated GIF images.
It can create colour and 3D images from BMP or JPG.
It can create AVI movies from BMP or JPG images.

Some comments and suggestions would certainly be appreciated before I let loose the current version on my hard drive.

MERDAT started life merely as a data decoder for the filenames of the images.
I got a bit carried away.

MERDAT should be considered as an aid to your Martian research, and used in conjunction with any other software you may have. I don't know that there is one software that does everything we want with our Martian images.

Every time you select an image to view, it will automatically display all the relevant data for that image. Rover, time on Mars, time on Earth, and the specific instrument data, camera, eye, filter etc.

As always, software is a work in progress and can be added to and improved.
You need to tell me what though.

UPDATE NOTE: I have just uploaded the latest working version from my hard drive.
The copy available was a bit older than I realised.
To unlock the program and enable image saving, type the word in all upper case, MANUMANONG into the filename window, go to File and click on Registration. It should then tell you that you are fully operational. This will last until you shut it down.
With this version, if it is run outside its expected directories it will ask to create them. It needs to have these directories for AVI source images, AVI output, All raw MER images etc.

This version is packed with free license features from birthday search, missing image find it at NASA, image magnifier to various languages, Klingon was a hoot. Keep in mind, this version is still being worked on.
Changing the language wont take effect until you set your windows language and locations, and it is just the date and time on the image tagging, except Klingon, gotta look after the Klingons, and the language font must be present on your machine.
