Happy USA Space Day folks! The day the USA entered the ring.

I was only a month over three years old, but I do remember my Dad and me talking about Explorer I. I also remember the rise and quick fall of Vanguard, as well as the flight of Sputnik 2.

And just three years after Explorer I, the USA had a man ride a rocket on a suborbital, and in 1962 put one into orbit. And eleven years after Explorer I we put bootprints on the moon.

Things that led to me becoming and working as an engineer to this day.

Rob
