Looking out of my kitchen window I spotted the Moon and Mars in close proximity.
Just for fun I grabbed the camera and took a snap.
Probably lots of 'noise' in the image, but here's the result with some captures from a nightsky program inset as reference.

Got me thinking of a fun community project - UMSF'ers sending in shots of Mars taken from their place on Earth.
Doesn't matter whether you're using a little digi-camera like mine or have a CCD hooked up to a telescope. Any takers?
