That's a really unusual image. Alpha Centauri A and B above the horizon of Saturn. Unusual yes, powerful, absolutely... that literally took my breath away. Just think what that image represents... that's It, our next logical destination after completing the exploration of our solar system...
One day, who knows how many generations from now, people will be sitting at their computers - or whatever they're using then! - and waiting impatiently for the first images to come back from the Alpha Centauri probe, just as we've all sat here waiting for the first images from space probes sent out to look at Mars, Jupiter, Saturn and all those other worlds in our solar system. In maybe a hundred years the members of UMSF will be gathered here, desperate to see and start making their own enhanced versions of the first images of planets found orbiting Proxima... doesn't that send chills down your spine?!
