The Lunar Photo of the Day (LPOD) web site, which publishes a commented lunar image each day, is apparently losing a lot of visitors. There was a significant drop a few months ago, after the failure of the previous WordPress-based site forced a move to a Wiki format on THE-MOON WIKI site.

LPOD features both earth-based and space images of the Moon commented by lunar and planetary scientist Chuck Wood. The combination of images and descriptions provides useful introductory information and insight on lunar geology.

Well - I can hand on heart say I've never regularly visited - there are so many blog-like sites to keep an eyeon, that one just doesn't make my daily reading.

What I can say is that UMSFs traffic has spikes and troughs...but at not point did I feel the need to write a post declaring its coming death, because all that will do is turn people off the site all together - saying something like that can do no good, and only harm.

Agree. Can't see that happening any time soon.
