If Time Travel is ever possible (and PLEASE no Sheldon science lessons here, I'm just playing, ok? ), people will pay huge amounts of money to travel back and witness events such as the first ape coming down from a tree to walk upright, Columbus' first steps on the beach of the 'New World', the arrival of the Pilgrim Fathers in America, etc etc... incredibly historic and destiny-shaping events... because all the traces of those events have been lost, swept away by the relentless tides of Time. Of equal importance to any of those events was the first manned landing on the Moon, when two men from Earth literally changed the course of history, and possibly of evolution itself, by walking on the surface of another world. The traces of that event - the actual footprints the two men made, the equipment they used, the flag they brought - are all STILL THERE, they haven't* been swept away. Right now at Tranquility Base we have one of the most important sites in the history of mankind. What kind of idiot, and I don't use the word lightly, would seriously consider that it's ok to go and ruin the integrity of that site and deny future generations the chance to see it as it should be seen?
