I'm a big Firefox devotee, but it looks like the Google Chrome architecture might be nice for my tab-intensive browsing habits.
http://www.google.com/googlebooks/chrome/ (Especially when you're got multiple huge photos open in tabs.) Probably can't live without my plugins at this point! |

Anybody else having problems with UMSF on Chrome? I was having different, but pretty crazy problems with UMSF in Chrome. I deleted my browsing history and cookies, and so far, that craziness has disappeared. Here's a question for those who better understand these things. Why does the Google browser not contain a Google toolbar? I'm looking for familiar functionality, but I am not finding it. -------------------- ...Tom

Here's a question for those who better understand these things. Why does the Google browser not contain a Google toolbar? I'm looking for familiar functionality, but I am not finding it. You can just use the URL box. Make sure google is your default search engine.I do have a quite annoying issue with Chrome though. The way I read the forum is: Search for new posts and then opening all new posts of interesting thread in a new tab. This works fine in FF but with Chrome i often need to scroll up to read unread posts. Anyone else seeing this? |

I do have a quite annoying issue with Chrome though. The way I read the forum is: Search for new posts and then opening all new posts of interesting thread in a new tab. This works fine in FF but with Chrome i often need to scroll up to read unread posts. Anyone else seeing this? I do the same for reading the forum and what's happening *might* not be a problem with Chrome but due to the fact that the "search for new posts" option starts at the time of your last logout. Since I (and probably others too) usually don't logout when leaving the forum, the session is automatically closed after a while. If somebody posts in the meantime, such post will be considered as read by the search engine and won't be shown as the first one the next time you login. Actually, this issue happened to me right now when doing my "early" morning check of UMSF. |
