A while ago someone made an offhand comment to me to the effect of "I'll bet you have space photos on every wall in your house." The fact is, I don't. But I'd like to. I'm moving soon to a new house with some beautiful spaces that I'd like to decorate (to the extent that my husband can stand it) with some space prints. Of course not every photo that looks spectacular on the screen is high-res enough to look good on the wall -- in fact, there are very few that can be printed above 8x10 inches in size -- and not every photo that's worth a "wow" for a few minutes will stand up to years' worth of wall-hanging.

There are some obvious choices -- for instance, a Cassini true color mosaic of Saturn containing many of its moons is a must, and there are a few to pick from. It's also kind of hard to beat the giant Cassini mosaic of Jupiter. Also, while watching the recent NOVA show on "Life on Mars" I was struck by the sense of atmosphere and depth in some of the color Opportunity pans of Victoria -- I have to hunt around but I'll track one of those down, crop a bit out and enjoy the Pancam team's landscape photography. And I have a couple of ideas for planet and/or moon montages that I'd like to explore.

Anybody have any other particular suggestions for high-resolution, preferably (but not necessarily) color images that would look quite fine framed and on a wall?

Can anybody point to versions of older images, like, say, the color Viking lander pans, that would look best on the wall? My new house has one long hallway that might be good for a series of panoramas...
