I'm still having trouble figuring out the geometry - is this a limb shot and if so, what's the discrete "haze" layer to the right?

I would guess the haze is a cloud.

According to Roscosmos:

Koronas-Foton made its first scientific discovery. New belts of activity have formed across the Sun. These belts are symmetrical and are in the Northern and Southern Solar hemispheres.

Ooo...COOL shot, thanks for posting the link, Z! Are those flares, actually, or are they solar spicules? If the latter, lots more detail than I've seen before.

A few will take this knowledge and use this power of a dream realized as a force for change, an impetus for further discovery to make less ancient dreams real.
