I have what I hope will be a fun idea for a thread, here.
We're all on a tour bus, and as we go along, the conductor points out interesting space-related things. The catch is, the picture caption, in the form of the conductor's narrative, has to be a comedic look at the item. I'll start it off, I think you'll get the idea from this: "Ladies and gentlemen, if you'll look out the left side of the bus, you'll see a relic we have here. Yes, that is one of the original boxes that the Saturn V's came in. If you look closely, there is a small label in one corner which says 'Some Assembly Required.'" -the other Doug p.s. -- picture acquired from Collectspace.com, to whom all rights belong. -------------------- “The trouble ain't that there is too many fools, but that the lightning ain't distributed right.” -Mark Twain

I'll pitch in on this one...
The new season of the TV series 'Prison Break' takes an unexpected twist as brothers Michael and Lincoln steal a space shuttle to escape. I swear this one is a true story. I was on the bus tour at the Kennedy Space Center and the driver would play an audio tape about the history of KSC and spaceflight in general. Occasionally the driver would break in to the commentary and announce something. During one section of the tour the audio talked about Kennedy's famous Moon speech to Congress. It all went something like this... "Following the successful flight of America's first astronaut Alan Shephard, on May 25th 1961 President John F. Kennedy addressed a special joint sitting of Congress, where he spoke these now famous words, "I believe....<click> "If you look out the left hand side of the bus you'll see an alligator"...<click>"...landing a man on the Moon and returning him safely to the Earth." I never knew alligators had played such an important role Astro0 |
