This sounds really good - "rock star science populariser" Dr Brian Cox looking back at the life of Carl Sagan... definitely one for UK members to listen to, or catch up with later on iPlayer...

The programme could easily have been turned out as a "best of csagan" clipsfest (which would have been great in it's own right, of course), but Cox's autobiographical stuff about having his life changed by the first BBC airing of Cosmos in 1981 provided the perfect framing device. Especially for us 30/40ish types into nostalgia mode.... I'm a pathetic sucker for that sort of move. Pass me a tissue, I've got something in my throat
