Internet sites go down or drop off the net now and then, there's nothing very unusual about it and no doubt it's a temporary thing; I'm just curious
www.planetary.org is unreachable for me; anyone else having problems? Traceroutes die somewhere after AboveNet: CODE traceroute -A www.planetary.org [...] 7 so-0-1-0.mpr1.dca2.us.above.net (64.125.27.57) [*] 100.279 ms 102.944 ms 107.116 ms 8 ge-2-0-0.mpr3.iah1.us.above.net (64.125.25.114) [*] 137.562 ms 139.386 ms 144.932 ms 9 so-1-1-0.mpr3.lax9.us.above.net (64.125.25.45) [*] 185.998 ms 186.537 ms 187.084 ms 10 64.124.195.117.available.above.net (64.124.195.117) [AS11951] 188.709 ms 192.374 ms 196.784 ms 11 168.75.208.5 (168.75.208.5) [AS5062] 201.179 ms 204.133 ms 208.951 ms 12 168.75.211.20 (168.75.211.20) [AS5062] 153.425 ms 154.070 ms 154.540 ms 13 66.240.158.10 (66.240.158.10) [AS29925] 160.810 ms 162.960 ms 167.402 ms 14 planetory.org (66.240.137.13) [AS29925] 170.610 ms !X 173.287 ms !X 177.618 ms !X (!X == "administratively prohibited".) Possibly a symptom of an upstream provider blackholing traffic in response to a DDoS? But why the misspelled hostname for 66.240.137.13? And - AS29925 is: "Mas Media Inc." of Ontario, Canada. EDIT: http://downforeveryoneorjustme.com/www.planetary.org -------------------- --
