If it is really what we think it is, one question occurs to my mind: what topographic data might they be using? Kaguya's?

Some very nice work based on old Apollo data was shown at LPSC this year and would work for the areas covered by Apollo stereoscopic images. That might be added into previous data. But I'm not sure if the full Kaguya dataset is available yet. - it isn't for us, but might be for some users.

True, Doug, for later - the question right now has to be, what could the initial release be based on? That Apollo stereo I mentioned is limited in coverage but it is superb.
