Has anyone else noticed that NTRS, the NASA reports server is unavailable...and has been since Monday?

Is there an alternate access point or does it just die periodically?

I have this horrifying vision of hearing that it has been shut down because there wasn't the budget for the bandwidth!

Cheers,

--Nick

Just so long as it doesn't come back as another java-enhanced version, flickering and fading all over the place while you're trying to find something.

I was wondering if it was every one or just my connection. For the last few months I kept seeing the same documents appearing every update, so I'm hoping that it does not mean that some l33t hacker has turned the site into a malware dump and now they're trying to clean the servers out.

They've got an apology page up now, at least, saying it needed unexpected maintenance or such and should be up in a week. Not clear when that week started, though.

At least my fear that it was shut down for budgetary reasons hasn't played out.

I'm guessing that the week started when the message was last updated (24th September), but it still raises the question of just what happened.

As I mentioned in my earlier post for the last few weeks prior to this I was seeing the same document titles turning up again and again with each update of the contents list.

Hopefully there won't be any lost data.

It is not slightly over a week since the message went up (24th September) saying the servers were down for maintenance.

Decided to visit the site and it is still down, which suggests the problem is really serious.

Hooray smile.gif !

Looks like the next upload is going to be quite large as they've lost anything uploaded after the 19th of September.
