I'm leaving this post up because it's likely to come up a lot over the next few months, with Alan Boyle's new book "The Case for Pluto" being published recently. However, I am closing the thread to further updates because the question of "Is Pluto a Planet" is a banned subject on this forum (see forum rule 1.9). It is banned not because it isn't something worth debating, it's just that past experience on this forum has shown that the discussions never resolve and wind up being a cause of endless Admin headaches. There are other forums on which you can debate the question if you choose.
