Telepresence robot!!! Where do I get one There's two of these kind of things on the market right now (as far as I know) Meccano's Spykee and WowWee's Rovio. They're both pretty flawed and it's clear that there are still lots of issues to be worked out. On the whole though I think they're worth getting if you like that kind of thing and you can find one cheap enough. I got mine (Rovio) on ebay for <£80. Hopefully future generations of these robots will be ruggedized and have 3G connectivity and PV arrays. As it is they're restricted to the range of your wireless router and need to re-dock for more power every hour or so. |
