Another Meteorite Impact?

This is interesting... doesn't this look like an impact of a small meteorite? I hope they get up close to that area...

There is one thing that puzzles me about that rock fragment. What processes have caused it to crumble the way it appears to have done in the images. If it were on earth, I'd say it was the result of crystal growth, either ice or salt. I wonder what the processes are on Mars.
