Good morning. I am Byron Jones and this is the Flight Director report for the Mars Exploration Rovers. It’s Friday February 11th.

Over the last few sols we’ve been preparing both rovers for a flight software patch that would be enhancing the mobility for both rovers.

Spirit did a drive yesterday, working their way towards the Cumberland Ridge and we’ll be parked in this same location for the next few days as we uplink the files and then attempt to boot the new flight software.

Also, on the other side of the planet, MER-B is sitting just back from the trench it dug earlier this week. On Sunday we will attempt to boot the new flight software patch and Monday we’ll spend checking it out and then we hope to be doing some driving early next week.

And from all of us here at JPL, that’s the Flight Director report today.
