Nothing to see here, either, in the New York City area, since the earth was in the way!
But I did received a wonderful photo from a serviceman at a forward base in Afghanistan.
Since they were under blackout conditions and he had a sensitive camera, you can see the Milky Way and its dust lanes as a background for the reddened, darkened Moon.
