Right image
Left image Open them, one after another, in the same browser window; hopefully this caches them, so you can go Back/Forward rapidly. (Or do something that lets you quickly switch between the two.) There's a ridge in the foreground; beyond that, a bunch of small, light-colored patches in the ground. About 2/3 toward the right, nearly in the middle of the image, a small rock appears and disappears. It's visible in the left camera image, but not in the right. It's also not visible in any of the previous navcam images I checked; have to wait until sol 420+ pictures to see if it's still there. Here, a closer image, with the rock circled. Just a curiosity I happened to notice - this was the first time I decided to take two Navcam photos, side-by-side on the screen, and view them crosseyed. The only other pictures I checked that showed that kind of anomaly were those from the front hazcam of Spirit - the dust on the lens was the obvious cause of the dissimilarities I saw. |

I'd say rather that you found a cosmic ray / charged particle hit to the CCD, or a dust speck on the lens. The right and left images are taken together, at the same time (163566394-L0 & 163566394-R0), so it would have to be a prety fast boulder!
