Attached here and the following postings are "maximum discrimination" color pics from Spirit. One is a band L2/L5/L7 pic of the ratted target at Larry's Lookout.
The others are Band L2/L7 2-color pics after the apparent dust-stripping. Solar cells are visible in two of the pics, and in the last one, some shading in dust-coverage on the cell's tops are visible, together with small "red" dust patches <I presume> on the panel surface's outer edge next to the diagonally cut-off corners of the solar cells. Images have been composited in photoshop, contrast stretched to provide good contrast over the whole dynamic range, and edge-sharpened <the ratting has had the "sharpen more" filter applied, which is almost too much. NO ATTEMPT IS MADE AT NATURAL COLOR. I'm trying to see with "maximum discrimination ability" the subtle color differences between rock and soil materials. |
