For those not watching the Bu-log we are now under 400 meters. the "nose dive" was confimred as successful. I'm assuming that means the descent command was received and activated...

I'm watching avidly here in Ontario - it's great to be able to follow something like this as it happens. I am one of the lucky ones who did this with Apollo and here we are again...
Anyway, I've made a composite of the approach images posted on the blogs during the three descents so far, including this one. The scales don't mean much - most images are just scaled as posted (except this is reduced 50 percent from my original), but a few were posted at different sizes and I've adjusted them to fit a 'zoom' sequence better. I'd better add: images courtesy JAXA-ISAS. Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

Maybe you could add an appropriate logo with the caption: "Hayabusa late night touchdown made possible by LIPOVITAN D"

Good idea... ElkGroveDan... if that is your real name.
For some mysterious reason I always want to call you "Oak Grove Drive" Now why would that be? Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

ElkGroveDan got it in one... as I would have expected of course. Now let's hope Hayabusa can get it in one as well.
