Babelfish translation :
"And the ぶ the information that entered started rising. It starts rising in some kind of circumstance, it is unclear high. Whether or not it landed, it is unclear. Telemeter information, the pattern which 6:20 AM enters into approximately." Rakhir |

Well the blogger guy must have either fainted or had to run down the hall, that page has had us at 90 meters for like an hour now.

(Though the time between reports isn't necessarily the same thing as the time between events...) Let's hope for good news, they deserve it! Rob |

The guy at air-nifty-com says that it's time for the antenna switching and "we have to wait" -- I remember reading something earlier this week about switching between the DSN and Usuda stations -- can somebody remind me how long the wait is likely to be?

Apparently they are waiting for telemetry as they change ground stations.

Prof.Matogawa(JAXA/ISAS) said, Operater can not confirm asscending. Beacon from Hayabusa continues. Hayabusa has descended in autonomous mode. Laser range finder on Hayabusa indicated attitude 17m. After that, descending has stopped. But Hayabusa did not begin ascending. About 7:00 JST, Operater sent to Hayabusa ascending command, and going into safe-mode. Repeat, Beacon from Hayabusa continues. Operater is making effort to understand, what happend. -------------------- Jonathan Ward

Not a good omen - Hayabusa was supposed to touch, grab, and go. With only the DSN signal, the only sign of ascent would be the Doppler shift... |

I'm getting gateway timeouts on the official live blog. Air-nifty's latest update is:
QUOTE 8:44:57
Circumstance still obscurity. If you look at the streaming, as the ま which is caught on the I To matte ground, turned to reverse side with I To matte rotation, it is thought. Perhaps morning there is a some explanation past o'clock of 9. At 9:00 JST, Some conference will be made...probably. -------------------- --O'Dave

QUOTE (odave @ Nov 19 2005, 04:59 PM) Huh. Do you suppose that translates to "Hayabusa is caught on the ground on Itokawa, whose rotation has carried it to the reverse side" of the asteroid? Can anybody translate the Japanese more directly? --Emily -------------------- My website - My Patreon - @elakdawalla on Twitter - Please support unmannedspaceflight.com by donating here.

That's how I read it, Itokawa would have rotated around, placing Hayabusa on the night side. I hope Sunspot's interpretation (if he was being literal) that Hayabusa flipped over, is not the case
