What do you guys make of this unusual feature:
http://qt.exploratorium.edu/mars/spirit/pa...DWP2549L7M1.JPG If you look at the latest forward hazcam images, Spirit is now parked right in front of it: http://qt.exploratorium.edu/mars/spirit/fo...EIP1222R0M1.JPG |

The composition of the three raw pics (filter L257 without color retouching) shows some more. BTW I call this image the blue diamond regarding the lonely blue stone (where, I think, Spirit's wheel has leave one's mark - three bright spots).

Starting some IDD work by the looks of it
http://qt.exploratorium.edu:16080/mars/spi...F4P1110L0M1.JPG. On the side, does anyone else see what looks like dents at the base of the arm? On the cylindrical part that protrudes to the right at the base. I can't find any earlier images to compare with at the moment. -------------------- Turn the middle side topwise....TOPWISE!!

I can't find any earlier images to compare with at the moment. It does look kind of nasty, but I checked back - I just looked at Hazcam shots that had a lot of images listed, in the Raw Images section of JPL's site. Anyway, here's a shot from Sol 44. That same cylindrical thingy looks banged up then too. I assume that's how it's supposed to look. Sure does show the dust buildup though. |
