I've had good luck doing autostitch panoramas with Spirit images.
The Opportunity images taken in the middle of the plains generally refuse to stitch properly in autostitch despite attempts tweaking the settings. |

Grrrrrr...... It didn't add the picture. I tried again <brouse> <add this attachment>, and it said something about global space available 1.9 meg. I reduced the file from 3.1 to 1.6 meg and it still didn't post. Help doesn't seem to give much help on posting files.
Any suggestions? |

Oh-kay........ (mumble)
I don't have the nice big pan on my home computer, but here's a pan from a couple days ago, at horribly compressed levels. Again, with Autostitch, entirely automatically assembled from 8 raw pics. Ah... it appears to be working... "You have used 453.02k of attachment space for this post. You have 58.98k left for this post. " |

I took the liberty of making a polar projection of jvandriel's metrhuselah pan...
It makes the geography of this amazing site a bit clearer. I really must try to get some real work done... Phil Stooke -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

And here is a polar version of jvandriel's pan - hope you are OK with this, jvandriel! - if you compare this with the last one, just a few posts up the list, you can see how Spirit has moved slightly to the east to get a good look at the 'Keystone' feature (think I have the name right).
Eventually I hope to do this for the full set of pans throughout the rover routes, from the pans which are going into PDS. Phil -------------------- ... because the Solar System ain't gonna map itself.

QUOTE (jvandriel @ May 9 2005, 08:56 AM) Great job, Jvandriel. I posted a false color version of Pan Cam panorma in the Methuselah thread, but without the two lower frames... your Nav Cam stitch is a perfect "context" image for it! Which stitch program are you using? - regards -------------------- - Marco -
