Good afternoon, I’m Byron Jones and this is the Flight Director’s Report for the Mars Exploration Rovers. It’s Wednesday, July 6th.

On Spirit, today is sol 536 and she’s taken a break on her drive up the Husband Hill to take an Independence Day panorama and to attempt a rock scuff in that area.

Also, on the other side of Mars, Opportunity, it’s sol 515. She’s on her way down to Erebus crater, but after being stuck in a sand dune for about a month, we’ve been taking the drive a little bit slower lately. We only went about eight meters yesterday and we’re bobbing and weaving around hazardous dunes toward Erebus crater.

Thanks for tuning in, I’m Byron Jones and that’s what’s happening on Mars today.
