Well, with the Spirit Rover doing it's detailed analysis at Low Ridge and slowly building it's McMurdo panorama, what better time to stroll down memory lane and open up the old photo album. So have a look at my favourite top 20 photos returned by the rover and enjoy!

I'm also working on a Best Of Opportunity page, with the idea of making the photo pages a tribute to not only the MER imaging team, but also to the many Mars imaging enthusiasts who have shared their talented, hard work with us.

Stunning gallery. One slight typo - picture three has von Braun in the top left not top right of the picture - at least if my understand that von Braun is Pitchers Mound is correct.

I would add in the Aviation Week cover image produced by Dilo,Doug,Nirgal and Mars Loon.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah, I noticed that typo at work. And I think I have to move the sun to the left in the sol 807 Low Ridge panorama.......Oh, yeah, and I agree about the Aviation Week photo, but I didn't want to get involved in copyright issues.

Ant103, hopefully the Opportunity page will be up in 2 weeks. I first actually want to include a page showing how the sol 813 sunset panorama evolved with each new posting.

EXCELLENT idea, very well put together. Gave me goose pimples scrolling down the page seeing the evolution of that image!

Makes you stop and think tho, doesn't it, about the wealth of talent here at UMSF. Again, thanks are due to Doug for bringing us all together - and to everyone who continues to make UMSF such a respectful and inspiring place.

Your Sol 813 page is a great idea and an excellent compilation of an inspiring image. I had already added one version to my outreach talks and printed out the full pan for displays, most recently at the NEAF Astronomy Forum on May6/7 where it was admired by several thousand astronomy enthusiasts.

Ken, I should have the Opportunity up next weekend and I hope you'll be find some of those images a suitable addition to your talks......Here's a preview of one image I'm sure we're all familiar with. The one "little" change I did was that I extended the sky. But that alone has given it a grand, epic feel that makes me want to look at it over and over again.

Back on the topic (!). After I witnessed Spirit landing in Pasadena, I moved strait to Kauaii (for business ). A few days after I get there, the first colored picture was published so, I rushed to to my collegue proud to show them an unknown territory. You know what? They all shout : "but, it's Waimea canyon"..."it's next door". This very picture was not one of the 20 bests, but well, it reminded me to think to watch things from as many way as possible. By the way, where is the blue one between the red one and the yellow one. Mauaii ?

Yeah, Climb (mind if I call ya "Climb"?) - the reds are a good match, as are the gray basalt outcrops. I prefer the temperature range of Waimea though.
