Hi, this is Jeff Fabretto with the MER Flight Director report for August 25th 2004.
And today we have some amazing images to show you. As you know Spirit, that’s MER-A, traversing up this hill and we’ve got a point about halfway up the hill and we’ve taken this opportunity to take a 360 degree panoramic view and it’s just an amazing vista from up there. We can see all the way up to the crater wall.
Opportunity on the other hand is going down. They’ve gone down into the crater and at a point they came a little bit too close to some sanddunes they wanted to get to and they turned to get out of there. Doing that turn, they slipped and they slipped with the turn and they decided it was a little bit too close for comfort. They wanted to back away from the sand, they don’t wanna get caught in the sand. When they backed away, they found an amazing science target right between their front two wheels and so they’ll be taking a look at that over the next couple of sols.
And that’s the Flight Director report for August 25th 2004.
