I can't connect. Also I have noted for a few weeks lately that its been incredibly slow to load at my workplace. Also I think my workplace are blocking pages with "blog" in them, either the name of the page or just in the body.

"DownForEveryoneOrJustMe" says planetary.org is up (and indeed it's working for me, in the UK.)

(Edit - MahFL, sounds plausible that it's a deliberate block, depending where you work and who admins the network. Ask them, perhaps? Depending how it's done, trying to access deliberately blocked sites will generally get you a page saying "Sorry, this page is blocked because it contravenes ExampleCorp's Internet usage policy" or suchlike.)

I've been seeing the same thing - periods of several hours when its inaccessible - going on for a week or two now. This is the same whether logging on from home or from work. I haven't noticed any pattern that would suggest a cause. I just keep trying and it comes up eventually.

As a web guy, usually, I think this type of behavior is caused by broken TCP/IP routing, close to the servers.
