Hello, this is Beth Dewell for the Mars Exploration Rover Flight Director report for Tuesday February 22nd 2005.
On Spirit we’re currently on sol 406 at the beginning of the morning. On sol 404 and 405 we stowed the IDD and continued our drive towards Larry’s Lookout. This included postdrive NavCam and PanCam imaging including dust-observations and tau-observations. On sol 406 we’ll be approaching a position for a 360 NavCam panorama.
On the other side of the planet on Opportunity, we’re currently on sol 385 in the middle of the day. On sol 383 and 384 our goal was to drive. 177 meters on the first sol and 104 meters on the second sol. We’re waiting for our data to come back down from sol 385, our Odyssey pass is about to approach and we’ll find out how far we drove that day. And this is all for the goal of reaching Vostok crater, which we’ll reach in a couple of weeks.
And that’s what’s happening on Mars today.
