As can happen in any long running, popular forum, as membership and posts increase, moderation becomes much harder.
Our team is composed of avid space enthusiasts who all volunteer their time to cover the 24/7/365 environment of UMSF.
We all want to ensure that the Forum remains the place to be for "high level discourse" on unmanned spaceflight activities.
However, in the past year the cracks have been showing, with a noticeable decrease in the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR).
In the past few months, the amount of moderation required has increased 100-fold and depsite numerous messages from the Admin team, some people continue to either breach the Rules and Guidelines or just openly defy the moderators instructions and continue posting in a manner contrary to the spirit of UMSF.
Unfortunately, this means that we need to get tougher on moderation matters and will not tolerate repeat offences.
To highlight this issue and in the interest of being open to our membership, from now on, the Admin team will be making notifications of any membership suspensions or deletions.
We will never name any persons and will only make note of the action taken and a brief reason for the decision.
Please be assured that we will be guided by our own Rules and Guidelines and as we always recommend, members new and old should review them every now and then.
We thank you for your continued support of UMSF and look forward to a much improved SNR.
