That is some impressive stuff. I have also been toying around with a new Viking 1 pan. Here is my latest product.

biggrin.gif Great job Tedstryk !
Here is my own version (as wallpaper to dowload) that emphasizes the shadows between early morning (i.e. 7:30 am LMT) and evening (i.e. 4:00 pm LMT) at VL1 site.
Enjoy !

Dear Tedstryk,
Here is a blow-up of the previous image. Your colors are pretty good and match mine (forgetting sun illumination and contrast).

Great work!

On the pan I posted earlier, I have worked a bit on the contrast and saturation. Also, I have worked to enhance the visibility of the distant ridge.

Here is a Phil-o-vision view of the hills on the horizon. Seems to be a distant crater.

biggrin.gif Your are right Tedstryk !
Here is a detailed Phi-o-Vision and "Tedstryk-vision" of the horizon.
Thanks for your imaging skills Tedstryk !

Olivier, your Viking images are magnificent! So sharp, clear and so much depth. Nice to rediscover those old views. I also loved your rendering of Burns Cliff with the clouds overtop......Browsing your images been a great way to spend the last half hour at work on a Friday night. And now I think I'm going down to the local bookstore to buy your book!! Please keep on sharing your great images.

Salut!
Aldo.

Superb VIKING lander images indeed ...
But I have been trying to find good High-resolution images of the Viking landers being assembled at contractor Martin Marietta ... lots of images on the surface of Mars but almost none of the Viking landers and Orbiters being assembled?
So far I have 5 images of the Viking lander being assembled and about 3 images of integration ontop of the Titan launchvehicle... and I have been collecting since 1976 sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif
Can anybody help me with High-resolution images of VIKING assembly ?
