At this point, the 5 km milestone is still to reach...

There is certainly some space for interpretation about the driven distance. The official interpretation seems to be, that the 5 km mark has been passed.
There is always some difference between "ground speed" and wheel speed.

Joe was correctly reporting in excess of 5km but when he aligned his traverse map the odometer was adjusted to the figures Dilo published. Joe is working on this resolving this issue, refer to his post from yesterday LINK
