I'd have to call this another ring of fine sand left behind by the APXS shield after an integration The sun's from the right so the circular feature looks like a groove rather than a ridge. Probably scratches from the brushing: http://mars.jpl.nasa.gov/msl-raw-images/ms...512C00_DXXX.jpg |

The sun's from the right so the circular feature looks like a groove rather than a ridge. The softness of the rock and the color certainly suggest phyllosilicates / clays, but I would expect hematite on Vera Rubin Ridge. |
