From the images released today, it looks like a more spherical version of Itokawa, but still a remarkable rubble pile with only a few, subdued craters

Did you see the comparison to all other minor bodies photographed in the past, listed in the press release?

I am still mildly desperate for clarification about the wide angle camera window on Haya2 web page.

So, I rang JAXA publicity department this morning. I will be getting their reply on my mobile. Apparently,
the girl who picked up my call will have to sk other people for an answer. She was OK, though, so, I think
I will receive a call from JAXA, sooner or later.

Are you Japanese native speaker? I thought the doubt about the content and meaning of the "control panel" was caused by difficulties in automated translation from Japanese to English.

Although not yet officially stated by JAXA, H2 should have performed TCM07 this GMT-night, slowing down from 29 to 9 cm/s:
58291.013888 2018/06/22T00:20:00.0 0.3594 0.2688 46.1378 0.010988 -0.003875 -0.299525
58291.020833 2018/06/22T00:30:00.0 0.3660 0.2664 45.9581 -0.002735 -0.000503 -0.091445

It is... parking. :-)

Resolution is now around 4.5 m/pixel
Ryugu is 206 pixel wide in ONC-Telescope camera and 20 pixel wide in ONC-WideAngle camera.

No evidence yet of english version of press release :-( , which should be listed here:

Yes, I am. I still have not received an answer from JAXA. My question to them this morning was about the
fixed caption with the wide angle camera window. Until yesterday I had been distracted by the pop-up caption,
but I realised that the fixed caption is also strange. It is the character string right below ONC-W1.

It reads, word to word, "navigation abbreviated schematic". I explained to the publicity girl that lay people like
me would expect to see camara captured image on this window, not man-made something. She very well
understood what I was yapping about.

I think I will ring them next Monday again.

Google Translate is notoriously crap going between Japanese and English. I can't believe JAXA PR would release something without checking and editing it first.

Editing aside, there may be a point here. I myself want to see Ryugu pictures any time I want, without relying on
irregular press release of Ryugu photos. I therefore have been trying to believe that ONC-W1 window on HAYA2 is
an ideal tool to suit my own desire.

JAXA, on the other hand, may have good reasons not wanting to release real images on this window.
I do not know what these reasons are, for carrying schematics, or simplified something of Ryugu.

I realise also that the dot which has been seen on the upper left corner of this window has gone, in fact the
whole window has been switched off.

As somebody mentioned before schematics may even have more information that simple images? It all remains
to be seen...

I have noticed something else, watching the Haya2 control panel.

At each ground station H2 position is specified by elevation and longtitude. Longtitudinal angle change is OK,
angular velocity at different latitudes, faster in Canberra than at stations in Japan, but elevetion also does
change. Should it? Of course, much slower than longitudinal changes, but elevation does seems to change by
the look of it...

Is the earth wobbling?

They are definitely in Ryugu's sphere of influence... the last maneouevre brought the velocity to 9 cm per second, and over the last day or so it accelerated to 10 and now 11 cm/s. That has to be the asteroid's gravity giving a slight speed boost, right?
