Apollo pictures seen as never before, Work of Olivier de Goursac Options

For years I’ve had the feeling that the “past”, let say, before WW1, was all in B&W and full of fast moving people. Then, I realized that this was due to the beginning of the photography and the emergence of movies cameras.
But still, I have to think about it twice to imagine the past in colour.
On Thursday night, I saw what Olivier de Goursac has done with the Apollo’s pictures of the Astronauts on the Moon and my vision of this epoch has changed forever. I met with Olivier afterward and he told me he has been contracted by Nasa to do the work he has shown us. Olivier, if you read this, I’d love to get more comments about what you’ve done.
On top of showing us the pictures, he delivered very nice comments along with Olivier Sanguy (redactor in Chief of Espace Magazine).
I remember having seeing here in the forum some panoramas but I cannot find where. If somebody can point them out to me, I’ll be grateful.

Now, imagine yourself in an IMAX theatre seen panoramas of the Hadley region, the Taurus, Fra Mauro and other landing sites.
I was impressed by the sharpness of Falcon on the Stand up Eva on Apollo 15 : the rivets as well as the incredible thickness of the top of the LEM where showing in the foreground on this breathtaking panorama. All the LM were shown in a fragility I never saw before. Olivier was zooming on details of an incredible sharpness. Aldrin eyes checking if Armstrong was ready to take the picture of himself with the Star & Stripes flag, Mittchel on Fra Mauro with the little LM in the back ground, incredible details of strata-likes in the Hadley Mountains, Moon dust flying over Irvin’s steps as well as all the mess, rubbish, piece of everything the astronauts were letting behind them.
Dear All, I went on the Moon last Thursday night.
I can tell you that I’ve watched the Apollo’s flights live, specially Apollo 15, and that I’ve seen quite some pictures since, but I’ve discovered a brand new world exacerbated by the fact that it was on a BIG screen.
Now, Nasa will have an incredible communication tool for its return to the Moon and beyond. I’m sure they’ll use it broadly and just hope all of you will have the chance to see it.

Olivier, we have here in UMSF some pictures wizards but, what you’ve done is beyond what I thought was possible to do. I take the opportunity to thank you all, my dear wizards, for making our outside world more beautiful everyday.

When I talked to Olivier he told me, as I said, that he has been contacted by Nasa. He told me that "they" plan to make a book and (I'm not sure) a DVD.
What Philip posted here is about Olivier's work about Mars and this is already known. BTW is also told me that he has no time to work on Mars pictures because he was very busy with Apollo's. Unfortunately we didn't talk about where to see the pictures but, I guess they are not yet available since it was said at the begining of the show that it was the FIRST time ever that this material was presented to a public.
I'm gona write to "Espace Magazine" since it's the only contact I can think of to find out what's going on.

Merci et ça m'a fait très plaisir (et une agréable surprise) de vous rencontrer à TSE...
La toute "première" des images a eu lieu en fait voici 15 jours à l'Adler Planetarium de Chicago devant des centaines d'auditeurs. Elles étaient présentées officiellement par la Nasa/Hq avec Buzz Aldrin, Gene Cernan et Jim Lovell... D'autres présentations auront lieu aux US prochainement, mais je n'en ai pas le calendrier... Je suis "off" pour Mars tellement le boulot est énorme... Ce travail a été entamé dès 1984 à Brown University pour le repérage des images. Les premiers tests d'assemblage ont eu lieu en 1998, les validations des corrections chromatiques en 2001... Puis j'ai eu ma "parenthèse" MER pour aider à monter l'Outreach en prévision du succès que vous connaissez.
Bon, il faut que je reparte sur la Lune...

I'm sure our friends "on the other side of the pond" will be gratefull if you post a calandar of the show if (and when) you'll know it.
Toulouse was fantastic but meeting Aldrin,Lovell and Cernan, would have been...I even don't dream of this.
